The Young People's Trust for the Environment is a charity set up to encourage young people's understanding of the environment. Founded back in 1982, it aims to give young people a real awareness of environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, deforestation and endangered flora & fauna.
It also aims to provide balanced views to take into account the realities of the modern world. Young people need to know all of the facts in order to make their own decisions about how they want to shape their world for the future.

The Better Energy School Awards aim to assist and encourage environmental education for young people aged 5-11. They promote cross-curricular work on the environment and offer opportunities to study energy including fossil fuels and alternative technologies, linking with the National Curriculum for England and Wales and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
The awards are split into four regions (South/Central, North, Wales and West, Scotland) and there will be a winner for each Award category in each region.
With over 50 prizes available and a top prize of £5,000 for the overall champion school, it's well worth taking part!
YPTE is compiling Home Learning Packs to support parents and carers. We will be producing a new pack each week, to be released every Friday for the duration of the lockdown.
Home Learning Packs will include suggestions for activities requiring no special materials other than those you may find around the house, that you can do alongside your children, or that they can do independently, whilst you are working from home.
We’d love to hear how you get on. You can follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WeAreYPTE/ on Twitter @YPTE or on Instagram @weareypte. You can share your pictures with us using #yptelearning
We need your support to be able to continue providing young people and schools with easy to understand, up-to-date information on all kinds of environmental information and teaching resources free of charge. Please consider making a safe, secure donation to help us to continue our work.
YPTE has never, and will never share donors' details with anyone.
