It can be difficult for farmers in poorer countries to get a fair price for the food they produce; Fairtrade exists to address this issue.

These resources comprise a set of informative teacher notes (including suggested learning activities) that run alongside a Powerpoint presentation filled with images to facilitate learning.  Aimed at Key Stage 3, but also relevant for Key Stages 2 and 4.  Areas covered:

  1. Why life is difficult for farmers in LEDCs
  2. What Fairtrade means
  3. Economic benefits of Fairtrade
  4. Environmental benefits of Fairtrade
  5. Social benefits of Fairtrade
  6. How we can all support Fairtrade
