Amy is currently working towards her A-Levels at the Godolphin and Latymer School, studying Geography, Spanish and English Literature. She intends on studying Geography at University. Amy is particularly interested in sustainability, specifically ways in which people can change their daily habits to reduce their environmental footprint. This led her to set up an Instagram account where she shares easy tips and swaps, that help people become more environmentally friendly.
For her Extended Project Qualification, Amy wrote about the social and environmental impacts of the fashion industry, and whether there were ways in which the negative consequences can be reduced. She hopes to see the fashion industry become more environmentally conscious in the future. Her interest in this topic led her to give several talks about the issue at her school Geography Society, of which she is now co-leader.
Amy hopes that her involvement in the YPTE will allow her to expand her knowledge on environmental issues and that she can learn more about the ways in which the problems can be reduced and how young people can provide valuable, sustainable solutions.
