Team - Sophia Dyvik Henke

Sophia is a sixth form student at the Godolphin and Latymer School in Hammersmith. She is currently taking English, Maths, Geography, History, Physics and German for IB, and is planning to read International Relations at University.

She is particularly interested in the intersection of poverty with environmentally conscious development, especially the role developing nations should play in climate change mitigation.

Sophia is organising a sustainable development lecture series, to develop greater awareness around the issue in her school, inviting speakers from Gapminder to the Oxford Environmental Change Institute to the World Bank. She co-leads the school Geography society, recently giving talks on sustainable economic growth and development aid in sub-Saharan Africa. Sophia also co-leads the Model United Nations Society at her school and loves to participate in MUN Conferences. As part of her school's Green team, she is campaigning for the removal of single-use plastic cups.

She is extremely excited about being a part of YPTE. She cannot wait to learn more about the environment issues and to play a part in real solutions for environmental issues.
